who I work with:

I help young adults, pregnant and postpartum women, and parents who are feeling overwhelmed and disconnected from loved ones to improve their relationship with themselves and others so they can feel more confident and fulfilled. Many of my clients experience anxiety, depression, grief, and relationship issues during transitions in their lives, and reaching out for support has allowed them to find relief and empowerment.

Being a parent or expectant parent can bring up a lot of feelings and challenges and working with someone who also understands may be what you need to feel more supported and confident. As a parent myself, I can understand the complexity of how parenthood can affect all areas of your life including the relationship with yourself and others.

Having explored my own cultural identity and immigrant experience, I feel comfortable and passionate in helping others who want to do the same. Our individual experiences are unique but we can work together to make sure you feel understood.

how therapy with me can help you:

By building on the strengths you already have, we will work together to find healthy solutions to manage your stress and challenging emotions, find ways to better connect with others, and to discover what is possible within yourself. I’m trained in perinatal mental health and have worked with many postpartum women and parents. Therapy with me will offer a safe space to express yourself, process what is necessary to move forward, and to explore ways to live the life you want.

about me:

I am originally from Hong Kong and also grew up in Australia and the US.  My immigration and cultural experiences have shaped who I am today and how I approach life and my work as a therapist. I am a strong advocate for social justice and embrace diversity and respect individual differences. This motivates me to provide services with cultural and social awareness and sensitivity. I have worked with individuals of all ages in many settings including community-based mental health agencies, education, inpatient and outpatient medical settings, hospice, and organizations for individuals with disabilities. I use a holistic, individualized approach to better understand who you are and what you need to achieve your goals. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, trying different cuisines, working on my veggie garden in the summer, and traveling.

Fun Fact:  I love to learn and one hobby that I’ve been working on the past few years is how to grow a variety of new fruits, vegetables, and flowers in my garden over the summer!
