Concerns I treat:
Grief and Loss
Pansy Ayala, LSW
therapist/Licensed Social Worker
who I work with:
My clients tend to be caring and hard working professionals or parents. You may feel overwhelmed with juggling the demands of everyday life and wondering how you can possibly find time to care for yourself. Some of my clients worry about having a baby and what that may look like, or are struggling to take care of a baby while coping with big emotional and physical postpartum changes. Other clients I work with experience anxiety, grief after loss, or some depression.
If you are a parent, we all know that parenting can be challenging, and you want to find a way to manage your responsibilities while living the balanced and fulfilling life that you want. Finally, many of my clients want meaningful relationships with their partners or family members. If any of this sounds like you, perhaps it’s time to reach out for extra support.
how therapy can help you:
I want to know what aspects of your life you feel are most problematic and out of control so you can find healthy solutions for living. Building upon the strengths that you already have, and through our connection together, we can identify your needs, manage difficult emotions, find ways to connect better with your child(ren) and family, learn healthier coping skills, and be the parent you'd like to be. Asking for help is hard but what you have to gain can be profound. Therapy can offer you a safe place to express your emotions, to process what has been lost, and discover what is possible. You don’t have to suffer or heal on your own.
I am a strong advocate for social justice and embrace diversity and respect individual differences. This motivates me to provide services with cultural and social awareness and sensitivity. I have worked with individuals of all ages in many settings including community-based mental health agencies, education, inpatient and outpatient medical settings, hospice, and organizations for individuals with disabilities. I use a holistic, individualized approach to better understand who you are and what you need to achieve your goals. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, trying different cuisines, working on my veggie garden in the summer, and traveling.
Fun Fact: I love to learn and one hobby that I’ve been working on the past few years is how to grow a variety of new fruits, vegetables, and flowers in my garden over the summer!
