who I work with:

I help adults including parents, pregnant and postpartum women, and those from multicultural backgrounds who are feeling disconnected from themselves or loved ones to improve their relationships so they can feel more fulfilled and self-assured. As a parent or expectant parent, you want the best for yourself and your family. But maybe you are losing confidence in your role as a parent or your connection with your partner or children is unraveling. Or maybe you are trying to merge your culture of origin with another person or culture, and don’t want to lose your identity in the process.

 

Many of my clients experience anxiety, depression, or even grief as life changes occur. Both relationships and parenting, along with melding different cultures, can be challenging! If any of this sounds like you, it might be time to reach out for extra support - I can help.

Being a parent myself and coming from a multicultural background, I can understand how difficult these things are. I will help you to find healthy solutions to manage your stress, explore different meanings within your relationships, and find better ways to connect with others. By building on the strengths that you already have, we will work together to identify your challenging emotions while discovering what is possible within yourself. I know that you want to be the best partner, parent, and friend that you can be.

 

I have specialized training in perinatal mental health and have worked with many postpartum women and parents. Therapy with me will offer a safe space to express yourself, process what is necessary to move forward, and explore ways to live the life you want. You don’t have to suffer on your own.

about me:

I am originally from Hong Kong and also grew up in Australia and the US.  My immigration and cultural experiences have shaped who I am today and how I approach life and my work as a therapist. I am a strong advocate for social justice and embrace diversity and respect individual differences. This motivates me to provide services with cultural and social awareness and sensitivity. I have worked with individuals of all ages in many settings including community-based mental health agencies, education, inpatient and outpatient medical settings, hospice, and organizations for individuals with disabilities. I use a holistic, individualized approach to better understand who you are and what you need to achieve your goals. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, trying different cuisines, working on my veggie garden in the summer, and traveling.

Fun Fact:  I love to learn and one hobby that I’ve been working on the past few years is how to grow a variety of new fruits, vegetables, and flowers in my garden over the summer!
