who I work with:

I help men, medical professionals and former athletes to manage stress, create a more satisfying work-life balance and reconnect with the people and activities that are most important to you. Do you consider yourself a  high-achiever, working in a demanding environment? Do you often find yourself doing things yourself because others aren’t able to, or won’t? Do you sometimes feel that there is not enough time in the day to do what you need to do, or what others expect you to do?

If so, you may feel exhausted and overwhelmed. You might even find yourself feeling resentful towards others. You may also be more withdrawn or isolated, devoting more time to work and responsibilities, and less time enjoying your hobbies or spending time with loved ones. You may even be using alcohol or other substances to remedy feelings of anxiety or depression

If you are experiencing any of this, please reach out to me, because I think I can help.

how therapy can help you:

Talk therapy has been shown to help make sense of some of the chaotic and racing thoughts you experience when feeling anxious or under a lot of stress. Talking about what is bothering you will lead to some general relief by allowing you to better organize your thoughts and feelings. Talking will also allow me to learn better how to work with you so that we can strategize together on what will help you start feeling better.

I will work with you to first assess how well you are getting your own needs met, and making small adjustments to improve self-care. This may be as simple as focusing on daily improvements in nutrition, exercise, hydration and sleep. I will empower you to manage the anxiety and stress you are experiencing in a way that will transform your life into one where you feel that your job, relationships and your hobbies are meaningful and bring you joy again. If applicable, I may utilize Brainspotting, a treatment method that identifies, processes, and releases emotional and body pain. Finally, I will offer support as you develop a sense of self that is consistent with your personal values and integrity.

about me:

After six year of coaching college baseball, I realized that what I enjoyed most about coaching was the mentoring relationships I had with my players. I transitioned into the mental health field, and I have now been working in the field for more than 15 years. I have a true passion for working with people who want to not only cope with life, but truly embrace and enjoy it. I firmly believe that overall wellness and physical health is very important to our mental health and I take a holistic approach to personal growth.

My wife and I share a love for traveling the world, meeting new people and learning about different cultures, which I believe helps me be a better therapist. I spent two years in the United States Peace Corps in the Phillipines, and have traveled extensively through Southeast Asia, Europe, and Central America. I also enjoy playing baseball, skiing, hiking, reading, gardening and cooking during my downtime.

I am licensed in Colorado, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina. I can see virtual clients in North Carolina, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. I can see virtual or in-person clients in Colorado.
