who I work with:

I help adults who are struggling with anxiety or trauma, overwhelmed parents, and autistic adults who are feeling emotionally drained, lost, or isolated to feel more grounded in who you are while meeting daily challenges with clarity and self-compassion.

You may be struggling to hold it all together; managing meltdowns, navigating school meetings, masking at work, or simply getting through the day without snapping. Maybe you’re parenting a neurodivergent child and constantly questioning whether you're doing enough, or too much. Or perhaps you’re a neurodivergent adult yourself with ADHD or an Autistic neurotype, still unpacking what that means, wondering why everything feels harder for you than it seems to for others. Whether you are diagnosed, undiagnosed, self-identified or are still exploring your neurodivergent identity, I’m here to support your journey. I am LGBTQ+ affirming for support for all identities.

If this sounds like you, you're not alone, and you don’t have to keep navigating it all by yourself. I offer a space where we can explore what’s really going on underneath the surface and help you move through it to refocus on who you truly are. Reach out today, I can help.

how therapy with me can help you:

Therapy with me is a collaborative process where you’ll be met with warmth, curiosity, and a deep respect for your lived experience. I offer a compassionate space to untangle what’s underneath the overwhelm, whether that’s old patterns, internalized messages, or unmet emotional needs, and begin to understand yourself and/or your child(ren) in new, more affirming ways.

Using an attachment-oriented, trauma-informed and psychodynamic approach, we’ll explore how early relationships and past experiences may be influencing how you respond to stress, connect with others, or show up as a parent or person today. This work is not just about coping, it’s about healing. We’ll look at the stories you’ve carried, the roles you’ve taken on, and the systems that have shaped your sense of self. Together, we’ll create space to reconnect with who you are underneath it all, so you can move through life with more presence, self-compassion, and authenticity.

Heather Hyland therapist at Catalyss Counseling
about me:

After over a decade working with adults, children, and families, I have found my focus as a psychodynamically informed, trauma-focused, and relationally grounded therapist. My work is rooted in attachment theory, guided by the belief that healing happens in the context of attuned and authentic relationships including the therapeutic relationship. I also incorporate practical strategies from CBT, DBT, and Child-Parent Psychotherapy to help manage anxiety, emotional intensity, executive functioning challenges, or moments when life just feels like too much. I have worked with adults, parents, children, and families in settings including schools, outpatient practices, and community settings.

As a parent of a neurodivergent 2e (twice exceptional) child, I understand how complex life can be. When I am not actively parenting or working, you can find me watching reality television, reading fantasy romance novels, listening to podcasts while walking, or advocating for neurodivergent well being at a local elementary school.
