who I work with:
I help neurodivergent adults (autistic, ADHD) and parents of neurodivergent children to untangle the layers beneath the overwhelm so they can move through their lives with greater clarity, self-compassion, and a deeper sense of who they actually are. You are someone who has figured out how to function, achieve, and show up for the people who depend on you. You hold yourself to high standards, perhaps relentlessly high standards, and you are very good at meeting them, even when it costs you more than anyone around you realizes. On the outside things look pulled together. On the inside, you are exhausted.
Maybe you are autistic, have ADHD, or identify as a high-achiever, and you are beginning to understand that the perfectionism you have carried for years was never really about character or ambition. It was a survival strategy, a way of compensating, masking, and staying one step ahead of a world that was not built for your brain. A late or recent diagnosis may be reframing everything you thought you knew about yourself.
If you are a parent of a neurodivergent child, that perfectionism takes on another dimension entirely. You research, advocate, and problem-solve relentlessly for your child because anything less feels like failure. You are deeply committed to getting it right, and you understand that doing that sustainably means tending to yourself too.
Many of my clients are both neurodivergent adults who are also raising neurodivergent or twice exceptional children, and that intersection brings its own particular exhaustion as well as richness. Whatever your situation, I take your full experience seriously, as your story is worth exploring.
how therapy with me can help you:
Therapy with me is a collaborative and thoughtful process rooted in warmth, curiosity, and genuine respect for how hard you have already been working. Together we will slow down enough to look beneath the surface of the patterns that have kept you stuck - the perfectionism, the relentless self-monitoring, the gap between your standards and your self-compassion - and start to understand where they actually came from.
We will explore how early relationships and past experiences may be shaping how you respond to stress, connect with others, and show up in your various roles. Our work will go beyond coping strategies. It is about understanding yourself at a deeper level and building a life that genuinely fits who you are, not just one you have learned to manage through sheer force of will. I draw on CBT alongside a psychodynamic and attachment-based foundation, weaving in practical tools alongside meaningful insight.
Heather sees clients in person at our Englewood, Colorado office and virtually throughout Colorado.

about me:
I have spent over a decade working with adults, children, and families, and over that time I have found my focus as a psychodynamically informed, trauma-focused, and relationally grounded therapist. I believe that healing happens in the context of real, authentic relationships, including the one we build together in the therapy room.
I am also a parent of a twice-exceptional neurodivergent child, which means I bring more than clinical training to this work. I understand from the inside what it feels like to love and advocate for a child whose brain works differently while also navigating your own complex inner world. I also know firsthand what it means to hold yourself to an impossibly high standard, and what it takes to begin letting that go. That lived experience shapes how I show up with every client, and it is why this work feels personal as well as professional to me.
When I am not working or parenting, you can find me watching reality television, reading fantasy romance novels, or walking while listening to podcasts. I also actively advocate for neurodivergent wellbeing at a local elementary school.
schedule with Heather:
You have spent a long time holding yourself to an impossibly high standard. If you are ready to stop white-knuckling through the gap between who you are and who you think you should be, and start building a life that genuinely fits you, Heather would love to connect with you. Heather currently has select availability for new clients.
