who I work with:

I help couples to resolve conflicts, communicate clearly, find solutions, and identify the strengths of your relationship so you can rebuild trust, develop connection, and create mutual respect. If you and your partner or spouse feel like you're having the same arguments over and over, struggling to understand each other, therapy may be the place to find clarity and resolution. You may be noticing cultural differences, alcohol or ADHD-related concerns, or contrasting approaches to conflict that are adding tension to your relationship. Perhaps you might feel unheard, misunderstood, or disconnected—like the very things that once brought you together are now pulling you apart.

The most common difficulties in couples that I work with are: arguing over finances, intimacy issues, communication problems, misunderstandings and nonsupport from partners, substance abuse, and differing values. Whether it’s frustration over communication breakdowns, constant bickering, or deeper issues of trust and respect, relationships can bring many challenges. If you are motivated to reconnect, rediscover your shared values, and strengthen the foundation of your relationship, I can help.

how therapy with me can help you:

Couples therapy with me will focus on practical solutions that create immediate, positive change in your relationship using your strengths. I select interventions that help couples learn how to communicate effectively, repair broken trust, and manage conflict in healthier, more productive ways. Focusing on solutions, together I will help you and your partner shift from feeling stuck to moving forward. If cultural differences, ADHD, finances, or alcohol are a source of conflict, we will work together to understand and navigate these challenges, viewpoints, and values.

My services will help you and your partner change negative thought patterns and develop healthier perspectives on your relationship. Ultimately, our work together will help you feel more connected, supported, and understood in your partnership. I pull from Gottman Method Couples Therapy as well as Emotionally Focused Therapy to help you understand the underlying attachment patterns in your relationship

about me:

As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addictions Counselor, I have worked in the Denver-Metro area for over 34 years in a variety of settings including community-based mental health and substance abuse treatment agencies, and outpatient settings. Specializing in couples and relationship therapy, I am trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy. I am also trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), certified in Dialectical Behavioral Treatment (DBT), and utilize Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Brief Therapy as additional approaches.

My wife and I love traveling, especially to Europe, learning about the evolution of Western Civilization and philosophy.  We are intensely curious people, and we have benefited from understanding how others live around the world through the centuries - all of which contributes to how I work with people. I enjoy walking my dogs, hiking, golf, and spending time with family, including my adult children, and friends.
