What to expect from a Young Adult Connections Group:

Small Groups:

Your Young Adult Connections Group will be small, up to 6 people per group. This is so you can get the most out of your group experience. A small group also gives you a chance to build connections to yourself, others, and the world.

Closed Group:

Young Adult Connections Group is not designed as a drop-in group. Every week you will see the same group members in your group. We believe this helps to facilitate more meaningful connections amongst members, which helps you feel less alone.

The Young Adult Connections Group meets weekly:

We know it is a big commitment to attend a weekly group, but we also believe this format will help you feel more connected to your body. We ask that group members commit to four consecutive weeks to get comfortable and have an opportunity to explore the connection between mind, body, and earth. If you decide the group is not a fit, we are happy to help you find a more appropriate option.

in person Group:

As this group is focused on developing connections, the group will meet in-person in order to get the most benefits and foster the strongest sense of cohesion. If you are interested in the group, but are unable to attend in person, please still reach out as we may offer virtual groups in the future.

hesitant about groups?

We get it. Groups can be intimidating. You're joining a group of relative strangers, and that can be anxiety-provoking! It's ok, and even normal, to have some anxiety about joining a group. You won't be the only one feeling this way, and we do address those feelings within the group itself. However, research shows that group counseling is actually just as effective as individual counseling for a large number of issues! Check out our article Group vs Individual Therapy: Which is Better? for more information about the benefits of groups.

The other option you have, if you're still unsure about if/how this Young Adult Connections Group can help you, is to contact us for a free 20 minute phone consultation. Our Scheduling Coordinator can give you all the information you'll need about the group and answer any questions you might have. Here at Catalyss Counseling, we love groups and see first hand the benefits of group therapy.

In our Young Adult Connections Group, you'll learn skills and be able to practice them in a safe setting, all while having supportive interactions with others who are in the same boat that you are. We know that joining a group is difficult, but why not at least try it?  You may be surprised by the result!
