Have you ever wondered what goes on “behind the scenes” of a group counseling practice when you call in for the first time to request a counseling appointment? Often, group practices have several different available therapists, and how do you know which one is the best fit for you? This article will give you a chance to see what happens on the counseling practice’s end when someone just like you requests an appointment for the first time.
At Catalyss Counseling, we know how difficult it is to seek out help and support, especially if this is your first time or if you’ve had a prior bad experience in therapy. That is why we offer a dedicated time to talk to you through our free phone consultations where our Scheduling Coordinator is 100% focused on you and what you’re looking for.
During this phone consultation, our caring Scheduling Coordinator will ask you some brief questions including why you’re coming into therapy, what days and times might work for you, if you’ve ever been in counseling before, and if you’re looking for group or individual counseling.
All of the therapists at Catalyss Counseling have specialized experience in treating different issues. For example, we have therapists who are specially trained in trauma treatment (EMDR) and perinatal mental health. We also have counselors who specialize in grief and loss, and others who work well with parents. We want to make sure that the therapist we’re recommending to you has the experience and training in the issues you’re coming to therapy for, so you can get the best possible results from your experience.
We also look at therapist schedule availability when recommending a good fit therapist. We strive to offer appointments that can accommodate your varied and busy schedule. Our Scheduling Coordinator knows what therapists have openings at what different times of the day, and part of identifying the best fit therapist for you is making sure that your counseling appointments are do-able in your schedule.
As a mostly private-pay counseling practice, Catalyss Counseling understands that almost everyone has budget concerns when seeking therapy. We strive to offer you counseling services that you can afford, knowing that investing in counseling for yourself offers significant long-term gains.
We offer a price range for individual counseling based on therapist, between $90/hour up to $210/hour. Each therapist at Catalyss Counseling has a different level of experience, training and certifications, and each therapist’s price is based on a combination of these factors. While you may get less experience with a lower-charging therapist, here at Catalyss Counseling you’ll always get a top-notch therapy encounter regardless of your therapist.
Group counseling is another way to help you afford counseling services that is less expensive than individual therapy. Some of our groups meet weekly, while some meet every other week. We strive to offer a variety of groups that can meet most needs. Research shows that group therapy can be just as effective as individual therapy, and if that fits into your budget and schedule better then you may consider checking it out!
Put it All Together
In sum, our Scheduling Coordinator looks at all of these things: specializations, schedule availability, and budget when recommending a good-fit therapist for you. Sometimes there is more than one therapist that may meet your needs, and in those cases you can also read through each therapist’s online bio to determine which therapist you’d like to start working with.
We try to do everything we can to match you with the best fit therapist that we can offer. I’d say that most often we get it right, but if we don’t you are always welcome to try out one of our other therapists that might work better with your unique self. We want you to Rediscover Your Everyday Joy and we hope that our counseling services can help you do this!
